CORA is a web-based clinical data collection and reporting company uniquely positioned to offer independent renal providers clinical performance assessments and benchmarking information to improve patient outcomes. CORA’s database contains de-identified clinical information in key areas specific to renal disease, including adequacy, anemia, bone disease, nutrition and vascular access information.
“The large dialysis organizations have the ability to
quickly benchmark units and provide best practices. Small independent and hospital based providers currently do not have the same capabilities,” said Tony Messana, Executive Director, St. Joseph’s Hospital Renal Center, California and President of the National Renal Administrator’s Association (NRAA), a nonprofit organization representing professional managers of dialysis facilities and centers throughout the United States.
“CORA is a new tool that will enable these providers to better track data and benchmark themselves against local and national data, as well as better trend their own data in real time. I think CORA can be a great additional tool to drive outcomes,” Messana added.
The real time reporting capability enables providers to quickly drill down to patient level outliers with customized messages for medication changes; it benchmarks individual outcomes against regional and national statistics; provides clinical performance analysis via a “scorecard”; and it serves as a repository for
customizing and monitoring clinical protocols.
